No, not at all. The entire game can be played without creating or connecting to your Crown account. Just remember, if you re-install the game, your progress will be lost.
When you create and connect to your Crown account, your profile, progress and Gold Bars are safely stored on our servers which allows you to play across multiple devices securely.
